03. The tab Alerts

Product: Admin Panel

You can add, edit or update alerts from the tab Alerts in the bottom part of the screen.

The alerts feeds you can edit are listed in the right part of the screen.

Some of the feature listed below may not be available for some or all of your products.

Administration Panel - Alerts
Mioplanet Administration Panel - tab Alerts

Active Alerts

The active alerts have been or will be displayed on the user's desktop if one of your application uses this alerts feed.
The list of Alerts feeds for a product can be set from the tab Products/Alerts.

An alert item supports the following settings:

Alert Message

Full text of the alert message.
HTML is supported, including components such as Windows Media Player for audio and video playback, Java or Macromedia Flash.

URL

URL to be opened with the default user's web browser when the user click on the alert.
Leave this field blank if no URL is to be used.

Publication Date

The publication date is the original time/date of the alert.

Important: The publication is also the unique key of the alert.
If the publication date is updated, the client application will consider the alert update as a new one.

You should not change the publication date except if you want your alert to be considered as a new one.

Background Color, Background Color 2 and Text Color

Some applications supports text and background colors.
When a background color is set, the background of the alert will be as specified.
When a second background color is set, the background will flash from one color to the other one.

Schedule

An alert can be scheduled to be displayed on the user's desktop between two dates.

Time Zone

If the time zone is set to local, the alert is enabled depending on the client side time/date.
If all users are not in the same time zone, the alerts will not be displayed at the same time.

If the time zone is set to UTC (GMT), the alert is enabled depending on the GMT time.
This makes it possible to schedule alerts that will appear at the same time on all the user's computers, whatever is the local time.

Start

The alert will be enabled when the time/date specified here is reached.

End

Expiration time/date.
When the time/date specified in the field End is reached, the alert is disabled.

Repeat

You can set here if you want an alert to be repeated:

Set the field Repeat to the number of times you want the alert to be repeated.
If this field is set to 0, the alert is repeated continuously.

Specify in the field Interval the delay before the alert is displayed again.
This setting should only be set if the repeat field is also set.

Send to history

When an alert is expired, you can send it to the history to keep it for further reference.

History

The alerts sent to history can be retrieved from this tab.

Publish

When your changes are completed, publish them from here.
Remember to publish every alert channels you have updated.
